It really is worth the short climb (5 minutes) on to the cragg for the stunning views of Ullswater, and the Helvelynn and Fairfield mountains beyond. Having enjoyed the fabulous scenery, follow the obvious path down to the main track that passes to the left of a small reedy Tarn and drops towards Silver Bay.

Silver Bay is amazing for exploring; surrounding it is a maze of trees and ferns which are perfect for playing hide-and-seek in. The bay looks out over the lake towards Aira Force and, on a sunny day, you can splash around in the water. You can also get to Silver Bay by foot.
